• The over taxation for tea otherwise known as Taxation without representation
• Bought Louisiana that more than doubled the land of the U.S.A

• He loved liberty in everyway. He wrote speeches on press and religion to reduce prejudice
• He was not afraid to take a stand for what he believed in in front of milions of people all though he preffered simple life
• He lived life with comfort and ease
• became member of group included Patrick Henry, Henry Lee, and Francis Lighthouse Lee
• delegate to the Continenal Congress, governor of VA, US minister to France, US secretary of state, and vice president of the US
